Mary Washington Healthcare Regional Cancer Center – Linear Accelerator

In 2022, Mary Washington Healthcare Regional Cancer Center announced the arrival of its new TrueBeam Linear Accelerator. The installation of this state-of-the-art piece of radiation treatment equipment required extensive planning, and RVA Construction collaborated with Mary Washington to ensure that the installation was completed safely and efficiently. Patient safety and minimal disruption in Mary Washington’s delivery of care were paramount. The new TrueBeam’s room also required renovations. Its size, electrical wiring, ventilation, and technology needed to be improved, and RVA Construction had to install radiation shielding, sound blocking, and stronger support beneath the equipment to support its weight.
